NATO Aircraft transports humanitarian aid to Haiti

On 9 April, two NATO Trainer Cargo Aircraft (TCA) left Geilenkirchen Air Base with humanitarian relief in the form of 10,000 blankets and 10,000 towels to be transported to Haiti tomorrow. The aircraft fly today to Miami International Airport, USA and the goods will be flown into Haiti Saturday on two different flights. A third flight with the remainder of the goods will be flown into Haiti 13 April.
The goods were donated by the Hungarian Government. Several government agencies including the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Directorate General for Disaster Management worked together with the Hungarian Red Cross in order to transport the goods to Geilenkirchen.
According to latest news sources, thousands of people are still displaced after the January earthquake and they are now facing an intense rain and hurricane season in Haiti.
